Today, those who dedicate their lives to helping others face more threats than ever before. Attacks on fire personnel, emergency medical staff, and paramedics are increasing, and the numbers have surged in recent years.

The fear of lawsuits, “hands-off” policies, and real concerns about staff safety are widespread. Unfortunately, these rules often restrict staff actions while doing little to stop aggressors.

Threats can arise at any point during a call, from dispatch through treatment, and can even come from the very people you’re trying to help.

We offer personal safety training designed for these situations because you can’t help others until you’ve addressed the threats to yourself.

Our courses teach first responders critical skills, including how to assess and observe a scene (triage), use verbal and non-verbal de-escalation strategies (first-aid communication), and apply hands-on self-defense techniques for violent encounters (emergency protection).

Aggression Response Training (A.R.T.) provides a complete guide to managing your safety, controlling the scene, and addressing threats.

These programs are built on real-world experience with hospital staff, EMTs, and fire personnel. They address the legal and cultural realities of the job and give care providers the tools to protect themselves. After all, you can’t care for others if your safety is at risk.
